Interior designer Mathilde Ricco shares how ASDAV’s Vastu course changed the way she understands homes, well being, and the spaces people live in.
Mathilde Ricco learning experience at asdav

As an interior designer, Mathilde Ricco has always worked closely with homes and the people who live in them. Over time, she started noticing something that went beyond furniture, layouts, or the look of a property. Some clients simply did not feel comfortable in their homes.

That question stayed with her. She also noticed similar changes in her own sense of well being across different homes she had lived in. This personal and professional curiosity led her to explore Vastu and eventually enrol in ASDAV’s Vastu course.

The question that started my Vastu journey

I had been thinking a lot about the connection between a home and our well being.

In my work, I meet clients who tell me they do not really feel at home in their property. It does not seem to matter whether the house is large or small, simple or expensive. There can still be a feeling that something is not quite right.

I have also experienced this myself. At different points in my life, I noticed that how I felt could change depending on the home I was living in.

These experiences made me want to understand spaces from another perspective.

Why did I look beyond interior design?

I wanted to explore ideas that could help me understand this relationship between people and their surroundings.

I decided to look into Geobiology, which is well known in France, as well as Vastu. I had heard about Vastu before, but only vaguely. The more I discovered about it, the more curious I became.

I wanted to learn it properly rather than rely on simplified versions of the tradition.

What made ASDAV the right choice for me?

I did find a Vastu training programme in France. However, I was specifically looking for teaching that felt authentic and direct.

That is how I came across ASDAV. I contacted the school to ask some questions, and Jasmine was very welcoming from the beginning. She answered everything I wanted to know, and the course was about to start.

Once I had that conversation, joining felt like the natural next step.

What stood out about the classes?

Jasmine brought a very particular energy to the sessions.

She was direct and focused, but always friendly. I liked that she could explain things clearly without making the sessions feel unnecessarily complicated.

She was also available whenever students needed help. Her responses were thoughtful, and I always felt comfortable raising questions.

The group itself added to the experience. The students were interested, active, and genuinely engaged with the subject, which created a very pleasant class environment.

Learning Vastu by working with spaces

The practical side of the course was important to me because I work with spaces professionally.

The assignments allowed me to practise analysing spaces rather than simply reading or listening about Vastu. I would have personally enjoyed having access to more Vastu reports because additional examples would have given us more material to study and analyse.

Still, the practical work helped me start developing a different way of looking at a space.

My biggest takeaway from the training

The most interesting part for me was seeing how Vastu can add another layer to the way we understand a home.

I came into the course with an interior design background. I left with a new perspective that I can continue exploring alongside my existing work.

Even something as familiar as an entrance door now makes me think differently. I genuinely do not think I will look at one in quite the same way again.

Where do I want to take this next?

I do not see the course as the end of my Vastu learning.

I want to continue studying and developing my understanding over the coming months. My aim is to build enough knowledge and experience to become a good Vastu consultant.

At the same time, the learning already has a personal value for me. I can use what I have learned to look for possible remedies in my own home and support the well being of my family. For me, that is something truly valuable.

Who would I recommend this course to?

I would give it a definite yes for someone who is motivated, learns quickly, and is prepared to keep learning independently after the course.

I also found the cost very reasonable compared with other training programmes. In my opinion, the value offered by the course is excellent, especially considering the quality of the teaching and practical learning.

My experience in three words

If I had to describe the ASDAV teaching approach simply, I would say it was practical, down to earth, and effective.

A special thank you to Jasmine

Thank you for everything, Jasmine. This has been a beautiful journey for me and a wonderful opportunity to discover more about your magnificent culture.
